Psychotherapy
Youth I work with children and adolescents individually or in family therapy. I specialize in attachment- based psychotherapy treatments that emphasize the healing capacities of improved relationships between children and their caregivers. Adults I enjoy working with adult clients individually or in couples therapy who are in the process of navigating a life transition or who have the desire to make changes in their relationship with themselves and with others. I specialize in working with anxiety disorders, adjustment to new life roles, parenting, and those who have experienced adult and/or childhood trauma. |
Teaching and Training
Teaching and training other professionals in providing mental health care has always been a large part of my role as a psychologist. I have been invited to provide trainings at community mental health agencies and graduate programs across the Bay Area. I am currently a Volunteer Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco where I train psychiatry residents in providing family therapy. Please contact me if you have questions about trainings that I might offer your organization. Some of my training topics have included: attachment-based family therapy; using play therapy with children; identifying and treating PTSD in young children; attachment theory and practice; working with children who experience suicidal ideation; working collaboratively in systems of care; attachment focused family therapy; relational clinical supervision; trauma informed care; and creating culturally sensitive environments of care. |
Professional Supervision/Consultation
I offer professional clinical consultation to licensed mental health professionals, community mental health organizations, medical professionals, and educational institutions. For mental health and medical professionals I offer ongoing consultation in providing therapeutic services and clinical formulation. For educational settings I offer consultation on creating a trauma-informed classroom and school environment. |
